Martin JW Marren
Senior Principal
Mr. Marren is the Principal of Marren Architects, Inc., an architecture firm he founded in 2003. He is active in the revitalization of Baltimore neighborhoods and has served as Principal-in-charge and Lead Design Architect for block renovations in Eager Park, Federal Hill, and Locust Point. While his focus is on multi-family mixed-use projects, Marren has designed a wide range of buildings including assisted living facilities, co-working spaces, private homes, and condominiums. His work has earned recognition and awards for design excellence from Baltimore Magazine, the American Institute of Architects, and Baltimore Heritage. Mr. Marren received a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Architecture, and a Master of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He worked as an architect for firms in Northern California before his relocation to Baltimore. He is accredited by the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is licensed in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Mr. Marren serves as a Board Member of the Baltimore chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He joined BMPCS’ Board of Directors in September 2014 and serves as chair of the Facilities Committee.

With over 25 years of experience designing buildings globally, Ricardo has established a reputation as a creative and innovative architect. He has collaborated with leading companies in the United States to bring award-winning commercial and mixed-use projects to life across the world. Today, Ricardo is focusing his attention on creating the sustainable dwellings of the future.
His extensive experience and commitment to excellence have made him an invaluable asset in the world of architecture. From the conceptual stages to the final construction, Ricardo works closely with his clients to understand their unique needs and create buildings that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also sustainable and environmentally conscious.

With a full slate of projects on the boards for 2024, Marren Architects is poised to continue their legacy of excellence. The firm is working on a new multifamily building in the EBDI footprint near Johns Hopkins Hospital and a multifamily development in Brandywine Maryland. In addition, the firm is renovating several historic firehouses in Baltimore City for the Baltimore City Fire Department.
